Fifteen years ago my aunt invited me to visit her in Florida. That was the first time I had been to Altamonte Springs. That visit set me on course to where I am now. On that visit I fell in love with the area and continued to visit her at least once a year. I always said back then that I wanted to move down here and it always seemed like a pipedream. Well last year I finally did. My only regret? That I didn’t do it sooner!!!

So much about this area I fell in love with. First and foremost is obviously the weather. Living in Syracuse, NY and experiencing the Central NY harsh cold winters anyone would find Florida a most welcome change.
The wildlife. From the alligators to the birds, Florida has so many unique creatures. The opportunity to see the different species on an almost daily basis is almost as welcoming as the sunshine.

The vegetation. Florida is home to such unique and vibrant flowers and plants. This was also a noticeable distinction which drew me here. From azaleas to zinnias. Florida is in bloom all year round.
There are also many things to explore in Central Florida (some you’ll find in future blog posts). Of course the theme parks get most of the attention but there are also the authentic Florida attractions like the many scenic lakes and hiking trails.
All of the things mentioned above are what drew me here and still continue to amaze me on a daily basis.
